DOH Construction supports Sheppard
Eighteen year old Jack Sheppard, who is currently well on the road to recovery following an operation to his right wrist, received a welcome boost to his preparation for the 2012 series, when DOH Construction recently presented him with a personalised vehicle to use next season.
The Newcastle based building company is a trusted partner of some of the UK's largest insurance companies, with DOH Construction's expertise often called upon to reinstate fire, flood, impact and escaped water damage and rectify subsidence.
DOH Construction's Managing Director Scott Hamilton is no stranger to motorcycle sport, and was a front-runner on the national scene during his schoolboy trials career. Nowadays when Scott is not running his thirty-strong team of staff, he spends his time enjoying his collection of trials and enduro bikes although purely in a pleasure capacity.
Speaking about supporting Jack Sheppard, Scott said. "Having been a young rider myself, I know just how important it is to get the right support at the right time. Although I am no longer actively involved in motorcycle sport, I still follow what is happening and especially like to watch the progress of our young British riders."
"For the last couple of seasons we have helped MXGP rider Shaun Simpson which was a great honour. We wanted to look at a fresh opportunity for next year and Jack certainly stood out from our point of view."
"He has done a great job this year by winning the Youth World Championship whilst riding with a badly injured wrist, which shows he has the right mentality and attitude to perhaps be a champion in the future too."
Scott ended by saying. "Hopefully I will be able to get to a couple events abroad next year and to see Jack in action once again. It is going to be an important season for him and one we will be pleased to support him through. We wish him every success and know that he will be giving 100%."
Jack added his own word of appreciation. "Having the support of DOH Construction is a big help and I would like to thank Scott for showing faith in me."
Sheppard is on course to be back riding early in 2012, with his recovery currently running ahead of schedule.
